Air conditioning sanitisation

Air conditioning has received some ‘bad-press’ for its alleged contribution to the distribution of air-born bacteria and viruses.  Some are even suggesting that it should not be used.  There is no basis for this claim so long as the air conditioning installation is well maintained and kept clean.

Given the events of the past months relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the critical need to urgently reduce the spread of such viruses, we are offering an additional service to disinfect and sanitise office air conditioning fan coil units.

Our service involves three simple steps which are carried out by our trained engineers.

  1. Remove filter and thoroughly clean by either washing or vacuuming.

  2. Spray the filter with a chemical biocide cleaning agent.

  3. Spray a very fine mist of this cleaning agent over the heat exchanger allowing it to be drawn through the whole unit and for it to run into the condensate tray and drain.

This process kills the germs that may thrive on the surface of the filter and the heat exchanger – the two components of the air conditioning system over which the air passes.

The cleaning chemical used has a synergistic blend of technology and active ingredients which enables this product to work quicker than most disinfectants and ensure that apoptosis (cell death) is achieved rather than merely suspending activity.
